INTERVIEW

with Steve Harris

How has society changed over the last fifty years?

"There are more ideas and technology has certainly become advanced. Conversations are more exclusive and ruling. The government is more representative of the "melting pot society.'"

What does it mean to be an America?

"This nation was founded by immigrants; therefore, America is more accepting towards immigrants who come every day. The government helps them 'find their boots'."

From your perspective...what is your opinion on homosexual marriage?

"Everyone needs to be treated equally and justly. There should be equality with all in the nation. Language is a huge struggle in the nation. Many people tend to cling to the first opinion they hear. Some people's environment can close their minds off to anything that is different."

Can there be a balance between your personal ideals and the supports of the nation's ideals?

"Opposing sides need to be heard, and there is a polarization that is occurring. So many people are only hearing their side's voice on any topic, and we are separating into two groups of people."
