A form of government in which a king or queen rules. A pure monarchy is similar to a dictatorship. The only difference is that in a monarchy, the king or queen is decided upon through family line. Whereas, in a dictatorship, a dictator often takes control by force. England and Scotland are some examples of monarchies. |
