____Friendships are among the top priorities
for people these days, and some of those people hide their deepest
darkest secrets from their 'best-friends' because they're afraid of
persecution and loss of those friends. One's enviroment determines,
for the most part, how that person thinks of a subject, how they believe
things should be done and how people should be; everyone is different
in the mind. Everyone thinks differently due to their uniqueness and
individuality, however, physically those people are the same - flesh
and blood. Sexuality plays a very large role in today's society and
many people don't understand the true concept of a different sexuality.
____Can you tell someone
who and who not to like? You can, however, the chances of them listening
and obeying are low. It is a mental concept in one's head: sexuality.
You can train yourself not to like someone or something, it does not
mean you are not attracted to them. If homosexuality was the 'right'
thing and the heterosexuals are in the tight spot homosexuals are
in today, the heterosexuals would be persecuted just the same; would
be fighting the system just the same, it is the same concept. No matter
what they masses say these indifferent people will still remain and
still be the same people. It is time we accept these
people for who they are, they're human and equal to us no matter what
they believe or who they are attracted to.
____ We've come far in our social evolution,
but we are creating a legal morass by not dealing justly and humanely
with the issue of marriage. Are we going to do the same thing on homosexual
rights that we are doing on the death penalty? Nearly every decent
democracy in the world has abolished capitol punishment, and those
that haven't won't consider it for the insane, the developmentally
disabled, the children; we, on the other hand, stand with some pretty
nasty company in our cavalier approach to life and death. Is this
going to be the same thing?
