Professional Goals

Professionally, my global goal is to empower both my students and other educators to use the tools of technology to communicate effectively and powerfully. To achieve this goal, I have identified the following short-term and long-term goals:

Certifications

• Complete my Teacher Technology Competencies Certification (TTCC) Portfolio for evaluation by December 2005.
• Finish all the TATC preparation classes in August 2006 and obtain the Technology Applications (TA) certification.
• Earn the Master Technology Teacher (MTC) certification.
• Become a certified online instructor.

Mentoring

• Continue in the role of Tech Liaison for the Pearl of the Concho Writing Project, a National Writing Project site, maintaining the website and working with teachers in the Summer Institute each June.
• Continue presenting professional development workshops on technology integration in the classroom.
• Write and publish articles on using technology to teach writing.

Skill Acquisition

• Increase TA skills in order to produce higher quality products for both instruction and as models.
• Learn to use Macromedia Captivate to create instructional Flash tutorials to incorporate into project-based learning units.
• Refine and add to my Texas Schoolmarm website as a resource for my students and other educators.
• Develop and implement use of student digital writing portfolios in my district.
