Web Authoring Redefines Publishing Industry

As the Internet's popularity has grown and "more than 53 million Americans use the Internet to publish their thoughts, respond to others post pictures, share files" (Washington File, 2004), Web Authoring is redefining the publishing industry.

Major magazines and newspapers are placing their issues on the Web, even encouraging readers to go online for more indepth information on stories. Some, like Atlantic Monthly are choosing to publish some issues exclusively online.
